Auto OpenInNewTab possible? (Firefox 3.6.24)

Is it possible to cause a bookmarked URL to open into a new tab automatically?
I know that on some web pages (e.g. Twitter) left-clicking on a link has the effect of a right-click-OpenInNewTab, which saves me hours of manual labor.
I see nothing in the Properties box of a bookmarked URL

An automatic NewTab property would be useful in several bookmarks for which one needs to open a service-page; TinyURL is an excellent example.

P.S. I'm glad I caught the typo in the subject line, pre-empting a rush of inquiries about the Xmas2011 version called FirFox!)

I click on Bookmarks with the wheel button which forces them to open in a new tab - does that work for you?

Hi Leif.
When I remember not to ROLL the wheel, it works when I click on the tiny icon "posted"; I used to do a right-click, copy link, to get a URL of the specific post in a thread.
It works too when I wheel-click on a link in a post; I used it to check that my link worked in this post before using "Submit".
But with that, I must admit, the mouse-wheel thread has started to go around in circles ....
