Thanks. The built-in update feature detects the new version.
Best wishes,

Just updated at home to 3.6.11, and now it won't connect, even in safe mode
I think I'll leave this until tomorrow to worry about...

I don't think 3.6.11 itself is the culprit - perhaps an add-on with compatibility problems? (Oops, safe mode rules that out)

I installed not long after my weight bench fell on my head while I was repairing it, so mine was quite painful.

....and I couldn't be bothered to check it this morning - I'll try again tonight. I suspect it is ZoneAlarm innocently protecting meArgus wrote: It's tomorrow.

Re: Firefox 3.6.11 & 3.5.14 released
That's where the problem was. It's the kind where the back piece is adjustable from horizontal to vertical, and the adjustment lever was inoperative. Because of the cantilever structure under the back support and lack of available space I couldn't tip it on it's side or turn it over very easily. I learned the hard way that I should have gotten a board to hold the adjustable back section up.viking33 wrote:So you were UNDER your weight bench, trying to repair it? Hmmmmm.

Re: Firefox 3.6.11 & 3.5.14 released
An obstinate ZoneAlarm. For some unknown reason, it occasionally de-selects its automatic start-up-at-start-up, but is still running sort-of in the background. It saw this as a new version of Firefox, so blocked it, but because it wasn't running fully, it didn't offer the usual pop-up. As soon as I manually (re)started ZA, it asked if I would allow FF, I said yes, and all is well again.Argus wrote:An obstinate firewall rule?

Ach so. Yes, the zlclient.exe is only the front end interface.Leif wrote:An obstinate ZoneAlarm. For some unknown reason, it occasionally de-selects its automatic start-up-at-start-up, but is still running sort-of in the background.Argus wrote:An obstinate firewall rule?
