I am using the old Google Maps in the IE 10.
If I am looking through a map and find something and want to be able to quickly identify it, is it possible to drop a pin or a bubble or some other identifying item on it?

Do you have a Google account, and would it be OK to use that to pin a location?

I have a Google account. If I pin it, is any of my personal detail (email address, user name, etc.) compromised?

There is a little button above the StreetView "pegman". This should let you "pin" a location, with the option to share it or not. I can't get it to work however. Perhaps you'll have more luck.

Above the StreetView "pegman" is a button to "Show my location." I don't see anything that lets me "pin" a location. Also, "Show my location" does not work for me.
