I wrote in VB6 as well as VBA; I remember identifying code that was what I called at the time "Core VB", generally string, integer, and file handling procedures. At one stage I set up a common library of code. My UW.DOT library still reflects this: About one-third of the modules are prefaced "UT_" and another third "WD_". The last third is "Mod_".

I veered away from VB6 when I realized that issuing updates to MS VBA applications that made use of a compiled library of VB6 code would be too complicated for dissimilar clients.
