Access 2007 Attachment Field

Post by teachesms »

Hi again,

I just got to thinking that if I split this database in two, and put the back end on an R:\ I am going to have a problem with the Attachment field.

the idea behind my attachment field is so that if someone who has a flyer request to go to the print shop already has say a .pdf file for example and they want to attach it to the entry for the request,

the person double-clicking on that in Florida for example (but is connected to us in NC by a dedicated computer here on campus that she can log into) is not going to be able to see that attachment ast the attachment came from a computer that the the database doesn't even recognize, as an attachment field is just a LINK...correct? Or is it storing an actual copy...it could eat up the 2GB or memory quick couldn't it. HELP

Argh!

Er, no. The attachments are stored in the database, so anyone should be able to open the attachments.
Best wishes,
Hans
