Report Section

Post by D Willett »

Hi

Please see the attached pdf ref my report.
I'm not sure whether to use "Force new page" or a different property.
If I use "Force new page" the report size increases because new clients are started on a new page where I only want a continuation.
Which property do I need to use ?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi Dave,

Is the "header" a group header?

If so, activate the Sorting and Grouping dialog, click on the relevant group level, and set the "Keep Together" property to "Whole Group" or to "With First Detail".

Otherwise, click on the section header in the report design, and set the Keep Together property to Yes.
Best wishes,
Hans

Cheers Hans
It was the sorting and grouping property.
There are so many variations within Access it can be difficult to locate the correct answer to your problem.

That's why this site and your knowledge is priceless.

Thanks again
Cheers ...

Indeed, because there are Keep Together properties in the Sorting and Grouping window and in the Properties window, as well as a Force New Page property, it can be hard to find the right combination. I've had reports that went into an endless reformatting loop because Access kept pushing a section to the next page over and over and over again... :hairout:
Best wishes,
Hans
