Combo just beeps

Hi Guys

I have a subform with a combo selection which has worked fine for ever. I did some design changes recently ( which didn't work as I wanted ) and have reversed the changes.
When I now try to make a selection from the combo I just get a beep.. and the selection will not change, its as if the combo is locked although it isn't..

This is so infuriating.

If I try the same from a backup I can make a selection, however if I import the back up form I get the beep again.

Anyone any idea's ??

Is the combo box bound to a calculated field?

No Hans, its just a straight lookup from a table.
I think I've got somewhere with it and it seems related to the form.
In one of the queries behind a control on the form, the field name has changed from:

DteConv:
to
Expr1:

The combo has an after update VBA routine, it obviously stumbled over the field error , I've rolled the DB back further and managed to solve it.
Backups are KING !!!
