Sharepoint and Access

Hi,
Our network guru here at the office suggested that I start to familiarize myself with Sharepoint as web based solutions are the way of the future. Naturally I came here to see if anyone has insight or suggested links for education on Sharepoint especially in relation to using it with Access.

It's difficult to give advice, since Microsoft's ideas about Access / SharePoint are changing all the time. The current idea is to use (Azure) SQL Server as backend and an ordinary Access database as frontend.
Access Web Apps are being discontinued - see Access Web Apps to be retired.

As far as I know, Access Web Apps as described in that article are on the way out...
