Navigation Bar and Auto Access checked, where design view?

Post by BittenApple »

Hello team,

I received a copy of database (the copy which has a lock on); I opened with shift key and then checked auto access key and navigation bar; I unhid every table and form, Still, I can't see the forms in design view. I need to go to see what the VBA codes is (I am asked to do so...). Whatever I do, I can't take the forms to design view. I can see tables and every other thing and forms.

I thought this is caused because the copy is probably locked copy or read copy, I don't know what is going on.

What is the extension of the database file? If it is a .accde file, you cannot design forms and reports, nor can you view the VBA code.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hello all,
It has .accdb extension.
What do I need to turn my database to after it is built and split? Can I turn to accde?

You can see the forms in the navigation pane?
What happens if you right-click a form in the navigation pane and select Design View from the context menu?
Best wishes,
Hans

Hans,
I can see the forms in navigation pane, but when I right click on it. it doesn't give me the option of Design view any where. Design view is inactive; and when I open the form, it goes directly to form view.

The only explanation I can think of (without seeing the database) is it's actually a .accde database whose extension has been changed to .accdb.
If so, there is no way you can get at the VBA code - the source text has been removed.
Best wishes,
Hans

Thanks for all,
I needed an expert opinion at which I am 100% sure when I talk about it to my group. I was asked to go and dissect the database when I told my group that I have no idea how to update a form.
