Is there a limit when using Name Ranges?

I’m using Office 2007 and I was wondering before I get to deep into this workbook, is there a limit to the amount of name ranges I can use. I use these name ranges to populate drop down using data validation. I do understand that the length cannot excide 200, but what about the number of name?

The maximum number of defined names is only limited by the available memory, there is no limit built into Excel.
