can you bookmark textboxes/frames? Word 2007

Post by diana »

in Word 2007 -

Note: Theres a current limitation in our environment using the Building Blocks.dotx.
therefore I have to come up with an alternative solution.

I have a template containing textboxes.

I need to somehow reference the textboxes
as to select, copy and paste the textboxes into another document.

I thought the easiest would be to bookmark the textbox.
Can a textbox be bookmarked?

How can this be done?

Can the same method be applied to an object?

Many thanks

diana

If I try to bookmark a text box, the text in the text box is bookmarked instead of the text box itself.

If I bookmark a frame, something that I don't understand happens. If I insert a reference to the bookmark, something that looks like a table cell appears, but it's not a table, nor paragraph borders, nor a frame...

Anyway, why can't you just copy/paste the text box into the other document?
Best wishes,
Hans

thanks Hans

Yes I got the same results when I bookmarked a frame, it places a bookmark within the frame not around the actual frame.

that was an alternative solution, just copy and paste the textbox into the other document.

Ideally, the textbox will be pasted into the documents header. I'll have to test what will happen i there are other graphics, tables in the header

then I'll have to pasted into the actuall document itself.
