Whenever I create a new document in Word, a banner is displayed up top that states:
TURN ON PROOFING spelling and grammar errors are not being checked in this document Turn on proofing Don't show this again
Is there a way to stop this banner from displaying while having Word check spelling and grammar in all my documents? I am concerned that if I choose "Don't show this again," Word will stop checking for spelling and grammar in all my documents.
I already have my settings set to check for spelling and grammar in all my documents in File | Options | Proofing, so I don't know why this banner is always displaying for me.

Perhaps your Normal.dotm template has been set not to check spelling and grammar?
Best wishes,

The banner shows up when you have anything in the document set to not check spelling or grammar.
This is akin to font formatting in that it can be applied to specific text.
I know of no way to turn this off.
