Synching issues on OneDrive

I have two problems with my MS OneDrive account:

1. I have had a message stating for days, "Download 385.6 KB of 385.6 KB at 0.0 KB/s. 1 file remaining." It should take only a few seconds at most to download a 385.6 KB file.

2. I get this message on most (about 2/3) of my files synched to OneDrive when I open them: "Upload blocked We ran into a problem with this file and can't save any new changes. Please save a copy to avoid losing your work." Sometimes I get lucky and pressing "Save as" and overwriting the local file fixes the problem, but most of the time this doesn't help.

As an update, it has been around three weeks since the 385.6 KB has been downloading. It still has not downloaded.

Have you re-booted and tried again?
Are you up-to-date with patches?
Can you download the file successfully with the OneDrive web interface?
You posted this in the Word forum. Does it happen if you use File Explorer to sync the file?

The problem persists after rebooting.

Windows Update states, "You're up to date."

By "OneDrive web interface," are you referring to logging in to https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/signin/, which after I log on, takes me to my.sharepoint.com? If so, yes, I can download files from there successfully.

I don't know how to use File Explorer to sync my files.

You might be able to fix this by unlinking your OneDrive folder and then linking it again.
  1. Make sure you have a backup copy of all the files before you do anything else
  2. Unlink the PC from OneDrive
    1. Click on the OneDrive icon in your notification tray
    2. Click on the gear icon (help and settings)
    3. Choose settings from the menu
    4. Go to the Account tab
    5. If you don't know exactly where the OneDrive folder is on your PC then click Choose folders and look for "Location on your PC:" then Cancel
    6. Click Unlink this PC
  3. Relink OneDrive cloud to this PC
    1. Go back to the OneDrive setup screen and select Get started
    2. Follow the instructions to configure OneDrive on this PC
    3. If the OneDrive folder wasn't in the default location you are offered then make sure you tell OneDrive where the folder is

I rebuilt my image from scratch and no longer have this issue.
