Comments - User Information

Post by DaveInPitt »

Hello Everyone - I have a Word 2003 document with Comments. My User Information under Tools, Options has my initials. When I enter a new Comment the comment shows my initials. But when I save the document the comment changes to the word Author. I've checked all of the Comments\Track Changes\User Information settings in word that I can check, but I cannot determine what is causing this issue. Thanks for any suggestions!

This means that the document has been set to remove personal information when it is saved. To change this:
- Select Tools | Options...
- Activate the Security tab.
- Clear the check box labeled " Remove personal information from file properties on save".
- Click OK.

This won't affect existing comments because the user name has been physically removed, but new comments should keep your initials when the document is saved.
Best wishes,
Hans
