I have a 40 page Word doc that I use as a template. But the footers change about 3 times whereas they should all be the same. The page numbers are OK and number consecutively, it's just the footer text that changes.
How can I bring them all back together, all showing identical text?

Re: Multiple footers Word 2003
This means that the document has multiple sections, and that the footers have been set to be different for at least some of those sections.
- Go to the beginning of the document
- Activate the page footer.
- Use the Next button on the toolbar to move to the next section.
- Word will display the section number in the dotted outline of the footer.
- For each section, make sure that the "Same as previous" button on the toolbar is "on".
- Word will indicate that "Same as previous" is on next to the section number.
- Repeat until you're at the end of the document.
If this does not solve the problem, it's possible that a section has been set to have different headers/footers for oddd and even pages, or for the first page of a section.
- Go into File | Page Setup...
- Activate the Layout tab.
- Clear the check boxes "Different odd and even" and "Different first page".
- Click OK.

Well I'll be buttered on both sides Hans. That is so far out in left field that I'm just dumbfounded.
Absolutely brilliant being able to come up with the solution so quickly.
