OneDrive files in Word slow to work with

I posted about Outlook's slow processing of commands due to Outlook's constantly working off the server rather than off my local cache at https://eileenslounge.com/viewtopic.php ... 2d#p316605. Adjusting the cache settings seems to have addressed the issue.

I have a related program with Word, where basic operations such as opening the Open dialogue or Save as dialogue is slow. It seems the issue is related to the fact that I am working off of files on OneDrive. However, all my files are on my local computer and are synced. How do I tell my computer to work off the local computer rather than on the OneDrive server to make things faster, and just sync files to the OneDrive server rather than work off of them?
