Quick Repair shortcut, Microsoft Office

Post by uncle »

Been searching for this shortcut, to no avail. Since yesterday, when starting Word I get Application Error, etc. I performed a Quick Repair but got same message today, thus my question of a shortcut. Thank you

At this point I go to Control Panel/Programs & Features, highlight Microsoft 365, click Change, and then get to the Quick Repair window. I am looking for a shortcut to get to the Quick Repair window.

Which version of Office are you using? (Microsoft 365, Office 2019, Office 2016, ...)
And is it 32-bit or 64-bit? (You can check this by selecting File > Account > About Excel in Excel)

The attached zip file contains a batch file Repair.bat
Place this batch file wherever you want, for example on your desktop or in your Documents folder.
To run it, right-click the batch file and select 'Run as administrator' from the context menu.

Repair.zip
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

If you get this error regularly after running a repair, I suggest that you have a bigger issue. Perhaps a buggy or corrupted Office add-in. Perhaps your Office profile is corrupted. Perhaps you have a hardware problem. Something is corrupting your Office software.
Have you run any diagnostics?
Have you done a malware scan?

Hi, Joe
Yes, done Malware and no problems found. I did an Internet search for this problem and found many others have had this same experience. It is thru some of those sites that I found the solution via Control Panel, etc.
