Excel dialogs intermittently disappear

Post by Rudi »

Hi,

I have a user that has this strange issue: He reports that from time to time Excel dialog boxes disappear behind the Excel window. Searching the web reveals several causes but promises no real solutions. Causes range from add-ins to registry fixes to a windows 7 bug and PDF add-ins/apps like Nitro PDF??? I guess the reason for this post is to inquire if any members have experienced this and managed to resolve the issue. Any advice that you can give to assist and resolve?

Also, if one had to contact Microsoft to report and error, what email or website can be used?

TX

According to Hidden dialogs cause Excel 2010 and Excel 2013 to appear to hang it usually has to do with Outlook, more specifically, Outlook add-ins.
The user could try closing Outlook (temporarily of course) while using Excel, to see if the problem disappears. Or disabling Outlook add-ins.

It's not easy to get hold of Microsoft, but see Microsoft Support.
Best wishes,
Hans

In addition to Hans's link above and just for reference sake, Echo Swinford has recently put together a page of useful contact numbers and links for anyone who needs to contact them for things like: suggestions, wishes, lost product keys, lost or broken CDs and DVDs

See here...
