Hey everyone... hope it's wonderful weather, where ever you may be.
I'm running a server at work with Windows Server 2003 as the OS. I've been asked to check that the service "Windows Process Activation Service (WAS)" is set to start automatically. I can do this, but I have one little problem. I don't see it in the list of services.
Is there another name used in WinServer 2003? Is this something I haven't had installed previously, and need to do it now?
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Re: Windows Process Activation Service (WAS)
See this Technet description Windows Process Activation Service Overview. With Server 2003, you'd not have it unless you deployed .NET 3.5.1 applications and then it would be installed automatically.

Re: Windows Process Activation Service (WAS)
Thanks Joe. As we don't have the NET 3.5.1 deployed, it's not there.
I'm going to check with the vendor about this, and find out if we need it. Otherwise, we'll be running as is. Thanks for your help.
