For the two months I've had the new netbook hooked into a DELL E773C monitor, and have been frustrated by the monitor's inability to make use of the full 1280x1024 resolution.
For two months I've worked with crummy 1152x864.
Tonight for some unfathomable reason I hit the Monitor's firmware(?) menu button and went to the vertical-scaling control and squeezed the screen in the vertical sense.
Waddyaknow!? 1280x1024 fits wonderfully, and I can read PDF documents in full-page mode again.
(I feel a tad stupid for not realizing this earlier)
