Mystery shortcuts

Post by AlanMiller »

I recently installed MS Intelli mouse and keyboard software. The shortcuts to the configuration dialogs seem to point to non-existent Targets (not files):

I'm wanting to find out what these (greyed out) targets actually refer to.

That's not a standard shortcut, rather it's what is called an "Advertised Shortcut", that's supplied by application installers and cannot be modified as they reference registry entries. See here for more details.

(If you need to add switches or make modifications to the shortcut, you need to delete the one created by the installer and create your own by right clicking on the desktop and choosing "new Shortcut".)

Rudi

If your absence does not affect them, your presence didn't matter.

Thanks Rudi. First time I recall coming across such a beast. Interesting, if complicated, the way these critters work.
