I know I had a Win 7 DVD, I downloaded the official ISO (several years ago) just before MS pulled the plug on the Digital River site that hosted them. I used it to repair stuckling2's laptop. Now I can't find it.
Been there, been in both boy's bedrooms, found a possible disk on one of their desks but it turned out to be audio CD tracks. I've even asked a colleague at work who I might have lent it to as he was having 'issues' with his Win 7 system some time ago. No joy.
Been out into the garage too, to rummage through what everybody else refers to as the multi-story junk park but I know is a collection of 'stuff that will come useful the instant it is thrown out'. No joy there either.
Been through my external HDD too, where I'd expect a backup of the iso to reside, nothing. Been through the HDD on the old XP box as well, can't find it.
No because the key I've got is an OEM Key, I got an 'oops something's gone wrong' when I entered it, and I had double double checked I hadn't got a typo in it. That key did reactivate Win 7 HP on stuckling2's laptop (but it had to be done by phone) after I'd reinstalled Win 7 on an SSD.
I went looking for the disk in case I ever needed it again. Paranoia brought on by the bad experience of my Win 10 SSD.
