I have the latest version of FireFox installed on two computers. On on of them I get a security warning which I'll attach but on the other it still works fine. How can I get rid of this message and not be in any danger of my account being hacked?

Re: Logging Into Eileen's Lounge
The latest version of Firefox warns if you're asked to enter a password on a http site.
We are working on moving Eileen's Lounge to https, but Mike Wolfman is very busy and he hasn't found time to perform the necessary upgrade.
In the meantime, there is no reason to worry if you login to Eileen's Lounge unless you're using a 'free' public WiFi network.

Thanks Hans and I just found out that on both machines I get that message for the password but only on one of them do I get that message for my user name.

Re: Logging Into Eileen's Lounge
I only see the warning for my username on the 1 computer but I see it for my password on both computers. If there is nothing to worry about I can live with that but I just don't want to have someone mess up my account here.HansV wrote:I haven't seen the warning for the username...

I think the only time I ever saw a screen even resembling the one you show, was after I accidentally or purposely deleted the Eileen's cookie? It did not say anything about an insecurity. I suppose it would not hurt to delete the Lounge cookie and re-log in.

Re: Logging Into Eileen's Lounge
Not sure how to clear cookies but I may already be doing that by deleting history and, I believe, everything else once I close FF. However, even if it after the first login of the day, and if I don't close FF down I still get that warning. When I checked as much as I could about the version of FF I am using it said that message was supposed to be displayed at sites, as I believe Hans indicated, that did not use "http://" in its URL. One things for certain for me, at least, it is consistent.viking33 wrote:I think the only time I ever saw a screen even resembling the one you show, was after I accidentally or purposely deleted the Eileen's cookie? Re: Logging Into Eileen's Lounge
If you really want to, there is a link "Delete all board cookies" on most Lounge pages. If you use the default prosilver skin, it's near the bottom of the page, but if you use the subsilver2 skin, it's near the top, on the right-hand side. Keep in mind that you'll be automatically logged out if you click this link.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Logging Into Eileen's Lounge
So after boasting that I never had seen any warning like the OP, today. up popped the identical warning before I was logged in?
I just ignored it and logged in fine. No idea why.

Re: Logging Into Eileen's Lounge
I think it's normal to see the warning when you click in the Password box in Firefox 52 or later, unless you're using https in the address (which has some problems). I still haven't seen it in the Username box...
