Request: Viewing unanswered posts on the Portal page
Hi Admins,
This is a minor request which will be very appreciated if it can be done...
On the top of the Board Index is a link to view unanswered posts. I find this filter very useful and use it frequently to see if there are new posts that i can help to answer. However, I navigate around the forums from the Portal page, and I was wondering if this link (unanswered posts) could be placed on the Portal page too for quicker access. I am under the impression that many more loungers have the Portal page as their "homepage" in the forum, so it will also allow more loungers to help out with new posts that have not yet been answered.
If this is possible....that would be great!!! TX

Re: Request: Viewing unanswered posts on the Portal page
I'm sorry, the Portal can be customized to some extent, but "View unanswered posts" is not among the building blocks.
Best wishes,
Hans

Thanks Rudi. I'd not explored this before. Now I shall ....Rudi wrote:... see if there are new posts that I can help to answer.
(later) I note in passing that excepting for Hans's announcements, some guy called Chris Greaves has the oldest unanswered post .....

Re: Request: Viewing unanswered posts on the Portal page
Update: we're working on this - we'll probably add a link to "View unanswered posts" on the portal.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Request: Viewing unanswered posts on the Portal page
Awesome Hans...thanks....if it can be done, it will be great!
PS: Probably the most important item on the forum is a new post from a lounger. More than any other, a new post should be quickly accessible to others for quick and efficient response. That is what drew me to the old WOPR because unlike any other forums, that was one that responded quickly and accurately. Many TX.
Hey Chris...I'll go and answer your thread...then you will feel better...

Thanks Rudi. I'm looking ahead to not being the back marker.Rudi wrote:Many TX. Hey Chris...I'll go and answer your thread...then you will feel better...
P.S. To all: Watch Out! I have set myself the task of responding to one unanswered post per day and since some of them are really beyond me, we run the danger of frightening people off Eileen's lounge when they get a generic "Well Jupiter always says ..." response.
Pile in before I run amok!
P.P.S. Rudi. Why do we need more than one state of Texas?

The oldest unanswered post that you can see is Welcome to Eileen's Lounge!
And you can't post a reply there!

P.P.S. Rudi. Why do we need more than one state of Texas?
Because it's like a whole other country!
(In case you haven't seen it, that's the Texas State Tourism Board's theme line.)

Well, there's East Texas, and South Texas, and West Texas, and Central Texas, and the Panhandle and North Texas. And there ain't nothing similar about 'em!
Did you know that the treaty between the Republic of Texas and the USA that brought Texas into the Union gave Texas the right to subdivide at a later date into 5 states? (At least that's the legend here in Texas. I never have looked it up.)
