Re: BBCode guide
Got it - URL was off. Go back to WFOH and try the link now.

Re: BBCode guide
I thought it might be useful, early on in the peace, to toss in this (IMHO) handy little tool for using BB Codes:
Special Characters - esp. good for BB codes

Re: BBCode guide
It http://www.eileenslounge.com/phpbb/faq.php?mode=bbcode doesn't work for me in Firefox 3.6, either - one gets an Error 404...mwolfman wrote:Got it - URL was off. Go back to WFOH and try the link now.
I'm clamouring to see if one can do and how to escape tags like wot we could do previously...

Re: BBCode guide
Alan's post was about the link in the Tutorial: BBcodes. That link has been corrected. The link in Alan's post is the old one that doesn't work.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: BBCode guide
Aha - that link http://www.eileenslounge.com/faq.php?mode=bbcode loses the '/phpbb', and works - thanks!
But is seems not to include all possible tags, examples being [ code], [ user] and the [ table] stuff.
And how to escape tags so that they can be shown as text and not interpreted...
No doubt this will come All In Good Time?!

Re: BBCode guide
Tags such as user and table are custom tags created by the admins. They are documented in the Tutorial that I mentioned.
To escape tags you have two options:
- Tick the check box 'Disable BBCode' in the options below the edit area. This acts on the entire post.
- Insert [b]...[/b] between the brackets

How about the [ and ] tags of old?HansV wrote:To escape tags you have two options:

These were a really handy and straightforward method of doing it "as you type.

Re: BBCode guide
The [] tags would be neat, if you have time.
Also something like to insert some s (good grief, what a peculiar ampersand that is - is it correct?)
Thanks

Re: BBCode guide
The phpBB software does not support opening tags without a corresponding closing tag, so it'd have to be something like . I'll experiment with this too.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: BBCode guide
Just a pedantic comment, Hans! New line is so useful in HTML...

Re: BBCode guide
I have added two new BBCode tags:
[t]url[/t] results in [url]
[tab][/tab] results in 4 non-breaking spaces.
I have added them to the Tutorial: BBCodes
Note: this will not be applied retroactively to existing posts (but it will if you edit them).
