Do you notice slow response times from Eileen's Lounge?

Post by HansV »

Lounger BillW reported that Eileen's Lounge is very slow to respond around 10 PM New York time (EDT); that is 02:00 UTC.

If others experience periods of extreme slowness too, report it here. Please tell us:
- At what time did the slowness occur (in your local time), and
- In which time zone are you.
Thanks!
Best wishes,
Hans

Didn't notice any particular slowness here. Also EDT but not that near to New York area. Local ISP?

Thanks, Bob - that's what I'd like to find out, whether it's experienced by all Loungers or just by one or a few.
Best wishes,
Hans

OK, I tried to post a message again last night at 9:30 PM EDT. I have this forum and the Windows Secrets forum both in my Favorites in IE and Google is my home page. I opened IE and it arrived at Google very quickly. I clicked on the EileensLounge link and then immediately opened a second session of IE and clicked on the Windows Secrets forum link. That site came up almost immediately. After 14 minutes the copy of IE that was trying to access this forum timed out and switched to the mostly blank page that has a Diagnose Connection Problems button on it. It continued to display the Google page during those 14 minutes. Also during those 14 minutes "Waiting for response from eileenslounge.com ..." was being displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the IE window. I gave up at that point and didn't try again here.

I've made a point of checking (for the past few days) and I haven't noticed any delays at all.

My nighttime lounging hours are considerably later than mentioned in the original post, as now at 12:35 am EDT. After getting a few hours sleep, I'm almost always up again for a couple of hours at around this time.

I haven't had any "performance" issues with the Lounge for a long time.

All's quiet on the western front here. No problems and good response times whenever I'm on site.

How about some old-fashioned traceroute?

tracert eileenslounge.com

Perhaps it’s possible to compare what happens when it works and not.

No problems here, though it's the wrong time, and the wrong side of the big pond. The Lounge is among the fastest, though there have been some minor glitches.

I accessed the Lounge at a few minutes before 10 pm EDT tonight. Encountered slow response time and surprisingly, I had been logged out. After logging in, response was slow until about 10:20 pm.
